We are currently awaiting the safe arrival of our black Labrador puppies from Brooke & Nav and are now ready to start taking interest in the form of a waiting list .

A little about me …..

I was one of the first to become Nationally recognised Qualified Dog breeders in the uk having completed the Ofqual level 3 certificate in Dog breeding , puppy socialising and welfare . I am very proud to hold this certificate and be recognised for my hard work and dedication to my Fully Health Tested Labradors in cumbria . I also spent a large part of 2023 doing CPD in veterinary nursing upto level 4. Along side this I also completed a level 3 in first aid for puppies and dogs , level 3 kennel assistant and management , Canine embryology and fatal development for breeders, canine pregnancy and whelping, puppy socialisation for breeders & a level 3 canine nutrition. So you can rest assured our puppies are brought up to the best of my ability and get the best care ,socialising and nutrition. I pride myself on giving 110% in what I do and what I’ve learnt in my 24 years of breeding .I always aim to better my self and my knowledge in any way I can and will coninue with my learning .

ABOUT BROOKE ( DAM ) 

Brooke Is the most placid labrador but with a very playful side .she a very people driven Girl and always has one eye on you looking and waiting for your next command .she has a lovely kind nature towards our other dogs and is always a willing team member . she is fantastic with children and all other dogs big or small . Brooke is a show lab but the massive short leg type but is shoe lab in nature , very placid and lovable .

NAV is Big strong young White ( yellow ) boy nice conformation, nice broad head, and of stocky show build all the way from Ukraine to join us to add his quality to our pups. He’s a wonderful , kind dog with a very quirky playful side to him.I am very happy with how he’s coming on a taking so well to his training here with us . He is a great addition and loved by all our family . He the most handsome boy I’ve seen .

Health and temperament are most important to us here at Sykehead. 

The puppies will be born beside my bed and then moved into the kitchen where they quickly get use to all the household noises, that you would expect in a busy country farm house. 

The puppies are being weaned onto fish4dogs .

Before leaving us at 8 weeks your puppy will have been given the best start in life and will be well socialised. He/she will have been on a very strict worming programme and treated with front line at 6 weeks to prevent fleas. The puppies will be microchipped at 6 weeks and vet checked as close to 8 weeks as possible. 

Not only will the puppies be use to all the household noises but they will also get to experience our purpose built enrichment puppy room. This will give them the freedom to explore and play with plenty of space. Our Early Development Puppy Play area was created to support early stimulation and cognitive development in young puppies. Studies regarding early neurological stimulation in puppies have confirmed that one of the critical periods for canines to be stimulated is between 4 and 16 weeks of age. Research has shown that non-stimulated pups may become fearful of unfamiliar objects and will withdraw rather than investigate. Even well bred puppies with superior pedigree could grow up preferring the safe environment of their kennels/crates rather than the stimulating world outside, and may also be more difficult to train. We believe our Puppy Play Areas ,coupled with interesting puppy toys, introduces puppies to different textures, sounds, and stimulates their developing nervous systems. We understand the importance of raising stable, well adjusted and confident puppies. Exposing them to many different sounds and textures during their early weeks will give them a great head start.
