Description

Bear's ideal home

This handsome boy is Bear! He has now started his search for his forever family and is looking for adopters who can handle a larger, strong dog. Bear is very sweet and loves a cuddle on the sofa, especially after a fun day out exploring. He will need to learn some manners as he loves people so much he will jump up for kisses, he is hopeful to find a family who have just as much desire to teach him new skills, as he does to learn. While Bear is a lot of fun to be around, he can also become overwhelmed with excitement at times. When he’s having these big feelings, Bear can resort to grabbing his lead or something close by. We feel that he would be best suited to a home, with patient adopters who can provide him with a calm routine. Due to his sometimes boisterous behaviours, we feel that any children in his new home should be 14+ and used to a bigger, bouncier dog. Bear loves to say hello to other dogs but can be a bit much for some dogs so a home with no other pets would be ideal. As Bear is a strong boy on the lead we need any potential adopters to feel comfortable holding him when out and about, a good sized garden area would also be super for him as he can have a run about to help burn off some of that Labrador energy. He will need his new family to be around most of the day at the beginning to help him get used to his new surroundings and help him adjust to his new life.

Could you be Bear's perfect match?

Bear is a fantastic 3 year old Labrador that will bring a big burst of life and love to the right home. He would really benefit from adopters who enjoy training and have an active lifestyle so he can go on regular sniffy walks. Bear jumps into the car perfectly but doesn't enjoy longer journeys, so close by walking areas would suit him best. Staying true to his breed, Bear loves his food so he can get a little too excited when being handed a treat, he would benefit from eating in food-based enrichment toys like Kongs, and destruction boxes. He’s also a big fan of his toys and will happily carry one of his favourites around with him. He can get overstimulated if the game becomes too exciting so calmer and more controlled games are best for him. If you think you could offer this big hearted boy a warm and loving home then please fill out an application and don't forget to favourite him in your application.

Labrador Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
