DescriptionHenry's ideal home
Henry is a gorgeous young chap, with a sweet and loving nature. He loves spending quality time with his people pals and is especially fond of cuddles. Henry was a little reserved when he first arrived in our care but has been growing in confidence more and more each day. Being a sensitive chap, Henry is looking for patient and understanding adopters who could allow him plenty of time to settle into his new routine, free of pressure. He’d best be suited to a family where the youngest members are of secondary school age, and able to give him some space when he needs it. When it comes to seeing other dogs around, Henry has been known to bark and lunge. He’s been working on some training, which should enable him to seek reassurance (or rewards) when feeling overwhelmed, rather than choosing to react. This is something which his adopters will receive guidance with and should be continued once he goes home. Henry must be the only pet at home, and it is advised to walk him in less-frequented areas. A garden of his own would be ideal, so that he has a space to burn off energy.
Could you be Henry's perfect match?
Since Henry’s confidence has been blossoming, he has shown a more energetic side and hints of what you might expect from a typical young Lab. He’s a joy to watch when he gets hold of favourite squeaky toy, as he’ll turn into a big goofball, throwing them about and chasing them! True to his breed, he’s a real foodie and enjoys food-based enrichment, mealtimes, treats, and chews. However, he does prefer to eat undisturbed, so will need to be fed alone in a quieter area of the house. Leaving him alone at home will need to be built up gradually and only once he is fully settled into his new routine, as Henry will likely wish to spend as much time with you as possible!
