Description

Suede's ideal home

Suede is a sweet 6-year-old Labrador who was found as a stray. He is looking for a home in rural surroundings as he finds busy environments overwhelming. He enjoys going for peaceful walks in the countryside, although can get easily overwhelmed if he sees a dog in the distance. If you have an enclosed field nearby he would love regular visits for off-lead zoomies! Suede would like to be the only pet in the home and children should be older primary school aged. He must have a fully enclosed garden to enjoy and leaving hours should be introduced over time once he has settled in.

Could you be Suede's perfect match?

Suede is currently enjoying life in a foster home where he is a real gentleman in the home. He loves playing with his toys, having a fuss from everyone and he is fully housetrained. Where Suede struggles is walking in busy areas with unknown sounds, such as walking past houses with dogs barking. All of his walks must be in areas where his anxiety doesn't get the better of him, as he will be quite vocal and start to pull and spin very hard on the lead when he spots something he's unsure about. Once he knows the area is quiet, he soon calms down and enjoys having a sniff. Suede is undersocialised around dogs so although he gets vocal on sight, once up close he is unsure how to interact with them which can be frustrating for him. Suede is a lovely boy who will absolutely thrive in the right environment. Could you offer Suede a forever home? Please note that you won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you’re looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you’ve submitted your application, we can’t change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.

Labrador Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
