Description

Poppy's ideal home

Poppy is looking for a family with a calm and predictable home to help build her confidence. She is looking for a home with minimal visitors initially to help her settle into home life. She can live with children 14 years and over who can play calmly with her and give her space when she needs it. Poppy can be worried by meet dogs initially and will need adopters who can advocate for her space when she is out and about and give her lots of time to meet dogs at a pace she is comfortable with so that she has lots of positive experiences. Poppy could live with another dog if introduction at the centre went well, the other dog in the home would need to be calm and polite, she cannot live with cats or small furries. She will need time and patience to learn the rules of a home and she will need housetraining and other basic training, so her adopters will need to give her regular access to a secure and private garden to help her learn. Poppy may be able to be left alone for up to 2 hours once settled in but this should be introduced slowly once she has had time to get used to her new home and routine and ideally be after a walk so she can relax and have a long snooze! Poppy will need to meet her adopters multiple times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet her within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Could you be Poppy's perfect match?

Fantastic Poppy is a 2 year old Labrador, she is a busy girl, always on the go, her energy is unmatched! She is looking for active walks and lots of fun training! Poppy loves a fuss and will come over and nudge you for more, she is a real foodie, and has not found a treat she didn't like, this helps with enticing her to learn new things. Poppy loves toys, she is happy to play independently and will roll around with her favourite soft toy. She is a wonderful girl who will make a great companion for a lucky home!

Labrador Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
