Description

Winnie's ideal home

Are you looking for a bit of a training project and happy to work with us to slowly transition an AMAZING dog into her forever home? Then meet Winnie! She's a beautiful Poodle Retriever Crossbreed who soon to turn one year old. She's spent much of her life in kennels due to an unsettled start to life leaving her with many anxieties. Her behaviour medication and training plan has been working wonders though and she's now ready to find her forever home. In order for her to succeed she needs quite a specific set up. She must be the only pet in an adult only environment with very few visitors generally. She will need a good predictable routine and a calm quiet home where she can properly settle. Noisy built-up areas won't work for her. Most importantly she needs her new family to understand her worries and continue all the great training she's been smashing with us. Our team will share lots of useful techniques and help and guide you every step of the way. Due to behaviour reasons we can only consider applicants within a 45 mins drive from our leeds centre.

Could you be Winnie's perfect match?

Underneath Winnie's worries there is an amazing dog just waiting to be discovered! Once she's built a bond with you she is lots of fun and loves to play. She is very foody and super smart. She really loves to learn so this will make her ongoing training much easier. She ADORES her human friends too! She likes to be with her favourite people all the time so won't be able to be left alone initially. She must have a good sized secure garden as she needs somewhere to burn off energy and continue her lead training. As she progresses with her settling in she will be able to start building up her doggy social skills too as she can be a little noisy when she sees them, but there is progress being made here too. So if you have the time and patience to work with us to continue Winnie's journey to a forever home add her to your favourites NOW! Once she's settled in we know she will thrive. She just needs a bit of work initially.

Labrador Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
