Description

Cole's ideal home

Charming Cole is a 3 year old Labrador X Springer Spaniel. He is looking for a patient and understanding home who can help him build his confidence. Cole will need to be the only pet in the home; he has met dogs at the centre and would benefit from some further socialisation with dogs outside of the home when settled. Due to his nervous behaviour, Cole would be best suited to a home where the youngest family member is 16+. Cole would love a reasonably sized, secure garden of his own where he can play and relax while he is building his confidence with the outside world. He can jump quite high so a minimum of 6 ft fencing is advised. Cole was used to being left in his previous home and could have leaving hours introduced once settled.

Could you be Cole's perfect match?

Cole is such a lovely boy, he can be worried initially and takes a little while to trust you but once he does, you start to see his playful nature. Cole LOVES toys and can grumble if he feels you are going to take a toy from him, he will happily swap anything for a tasty treat (he is a real foodie!) and so items can easily be swapped to avoid him developing any guarding behaviours. Cole can be worried by veterinary handling, he is doing well with this at the centre but will need to be muzzled as a precaution if any invasive handling is required in future. Cole was used to living outside in his last home so may need help adjusting to home life but he is excited to enjoy some home comforts, he enjoys snoozing in his bed or watching the world go by.

With a family willing to help him build his confidence and take things slow initially we just know he will blossom into a wonderful companion.

Labrador Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
